IMPORTANT INFORMATION

This manual is an accompaniment to your training course as provided by AIS Training. It should not be used in isolation, nor is it a substitute for practical training, experience and application of your skills. The information presented within this manual describes both the minimum standards required by law and also those methods and protocols recommended by RenewableUK standard and AIS Training . It is designed to provide clear informative advice which you can apply using a variety of equipment and company policies. Although every effort has been taken to ensure that the information contained within this manual is correct at time of writing, no responsibility can be accepted by us for errors or omissions contained within.

All references to RenewableUK standard documents are based on the editions current at time of writing only. This manual does not seek to replace or override legislation, company policies or site regulations, and the reader should refer directly to those documents should they exist. Should a conflict arise,

you must act within both the law and the regulations imposed by your employer or the site owner. Where compliance to the law or the status of any safety equipment is a concern you must discuss the issues with your Heath and Safety manager before starting work. In respect to the use, inspection and acceptable condition of an item of PPE, reference must always be made to the instructions and guidance provided by the manufacturer of the item. Legally the information provided by the manufacturer overrides any company policy, industry practice or personal preference and all technical enquiries regarding items of equipment must be directed to them.
